The holiday special of
South Park begins by expressing important information about the number of drunk driving related accidents around the holidays - and in true
South Park (and everyone) fashion - no one cares.
Santa puts a ban on alcohol during the holidays in an attempt to bring back the wholesome season Christmas used to be - and to save lives, of course - but this obviously enrages the citizens. Going from bar to liquor store and failing time after time, they lose all of their Christmas Spirit.
The mayor turns to an old friend - Randy Marsh - who was last seen in the
not season finale, Episode 6. The Tegridy Farms owner agrees to help but soon realizes that he is unable to grow his product in the cold - causing him to lace the marijuana with some white "christmas snow".
The episode is appropriately titled and is informative in the normal
South Park fashion - by showing us exactly how stupid people can be. When cocaine is eventually legalized, it is an obvious reflection of the people in the world who don't understand the difference and lump all "drugs" in the same boat.
Trey Parker and Matt Stone continue their tradition of not shying away from the truth when it comes to important topics. Tackling both the war on drugs as well as drunk driving issues with their own usual hilarious spin - the appropriately titled Christmas Snow makes for a wonderful episode of South Park - if not falling short of being a great finale for the season. It feels great on its own, but compared to some of the amazing entries we've had during the current season - it feels just a little lacking. Four out of five.
When South Park bans marijuana, Randy and Towelie introduce the latest Tegridy product, bringing Christmas Spirits to a new high.
