At last year's San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is returning for its seventh season. The hit animated series was abruptly canceled after five broadcast seasons before being revived briefly on Netflix for a season. With the Disney+ streaming service, Dave Filoni will
finally get the chance to give fans the proper ending they deserve.
A trailer for
Star Wars: The Clone Wars was shown at Star Wars Celebration this weekend, teasing Season 7's highly anticipated, action-packed adventure. It looks like fans will finally get to see the siege of Mandalore, the ancient homeworld of Jango Fett, as the series is expected to serve as a precursor to
The Mandalorian, the live-action series from Jon Favreau hitting the streaming service as well. We also get a brief glimpse of Ahsoka Tan facing off against Darth Maul. Interestingly, Ahsoka is now wielding two blue lightsabers as opposed to the green ones she carried during
The Clone Wars.
Judging by the trailer, it looks like we're in for quite an exciting treat when
Star Wars: The Clone Wars returns with 12 all-new episodes on Disney+ later this year.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars below, which also included several clips from the upcoming season.
While Disney+ officially
launches on November 12, 2019,
Star Wars: The Clone Wars still does not have a premiere date for the streaming service.
