We've known that
Star Wars: Resistance, Disney's upcoming animated series, takes place after the events of
Return of the Jedi and before
The Force Awakens. Thanks to some eagle-eyed fans, however, we now have a more specific period for where in the
Star Wars timeline the new show is set.
While digging through the official
Star Wars website, a fan discovered that
Resistance is set about six months prior to where
The Force Awakens kicks off. The small detail was tucked away in the meta description for the show, which reads:
"Set about six months before The Force Awakens, Star Wars Resistance tells the story of Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order."
It appears that Disney has since removed the date from the site's meta description, but not before fans captured screenshots for proof.
Disney and Lucasfilm
debuted the first look trailer for Star Wars: Resistance this week. It offered us a glimpse at the upcoming adventure of Kazudo Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance for a secret mission to spy on The First Order. The series will feature new and familiar faces, including Poe Dameron, BB-8, Captain Phasma
and - as we learned most recently - General Leia.
Star Wars: Resistance will premiere on Sunday, October 7 at 10:00 p.m. EDT on Disney Channel.
