Before Dan Harmon became well known as the co-creator of Rick and Morty and the voice of Bird-Person (Phoenix-Person?), the writer/director initially had a cult following for his previous NBC comedy show, Community.

Anthony and Joe Russo directed many episodes of the show and are known for including the show's cast members in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films they direct, such as Danny Pudi (Captain America: Winter Soldier), Jim Rash (Captain America: Civil War), Ken Jeong, and Yvette Nicole Brown (Avengers: Endgame).

Dan Harmon shares this trait with the Russo Brothers, as he often likes to bring his Community actors over and offer them voice work on his succesful Adult Swim show. So far fans have seen the inclusion of Gillian Jacobs as Supernova, Joel McHale as Hemorrage, and Jim Rash as an intergalactic marriage counselor.

There's even a far from subtle reference to the series in the Unity episode - with the group appearing on screen in an animated fashion and even interacting with Rick Sanchez at one point. Now Yvette Nicole Brown who played Shirley in the comedy series is making it very clear that she wants to be amongst her old pals and work with Hamon again. Check out what she had to say about a potential role on Rick and Morty.

“I hit up Dan Harmon more often to get a role on Rick and Morty. That’s where the money is, Rick and Morty is going to last forever. I don’t even care who I play, I could be the black woman in the corner saying, ‘Hi, hi.’ I don’t care what it is, I just want to do a voice on there."

Beyond that, she also discusses the Community reunion potential, and by the sounds of it she seems very positive about the chances of it happening. Check it out!

"I know that Dan’s going to write the Community movie someday and when he does, we’re all going to show up, whenever it is, we’re ready to do it just like you guys are ready for it.”

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Yvette Nicole Brown show feature her voice talents in an episode of Rick and Morty? Or are you more excited for a Community reunion?
