Marvel Rising: Operation Shuri and
Marvel Rising: Playing with Fire, the two most recent animated specials in the
Marvel Rising franchise, will be made available on Disney+ later this month on Thursday, February 20.
Marvel Rising: Operation Shuri was a 22-minute special written by Mae Catt that originally aired on October 11 on the Marvel HQ YouTube channel. It introduced Black Panther's younger sister Shuri to the franchise as the technologically savvy Princess of Wakanda tried to hang out with the Secret Warriors as a normal teenage.
Marvel Rising: Playing With Fire is the most recent special, having debuted on December 18. This 44-minute special, written by Danielle Wolf, focused on Inferno, whose powers are stolen by a teenage criminal named Zayla. But while the Secret Warriors attempt to get his powers back, Inferno is actually conflicted as to whether he actually wants them.
Operation Shuri and
Playing with Fire will join the other
Marvel Rising specials already housed on Disney+. Already featured on the streaming service is
Intiation, a series of six shorts focused on Ghost-Spider,
Secret Warriors, the main entry in the franchise, and the three specials (
Chasing Ghosts,
Heart of Iron, and
Battle of the Bands).
Also arriving on Disney+ this month is the Japanese anime
Marvel Future Avengers, which
will be making its western debut on the streaming service on February 28.
