Get ready for more looney adventures. Season One of Warner Bros. Animation's Looney Tunes Cartoons will continue with 10 new episodes set to arrive on HBO Max later this month.
The next batch of episodes is set to drop on the streaming service on January 21. Many fan-favorite characters have already made their debut in the first half of episodes, but making his first appearance in the series is the Tasmanian Devil. Taz will star in his full-length short, taking on Bugs Bunny in a Roman coliseum.
Bugs will go toe-to-toe with other foes as well, including Elmer Fudd, a leprechaun and Cecil Turtle. Leprechauns have appeared in previous Looney Tunes cartoons of old, the most notable being 1951's The Wearing of the Grin. This short was directed by Chuck Jones and starred Porky Pig. It will be interesting to see if Bugs' dealings with a leprechaun take inspiration from this.
Fans can also expect to see Daffy and Porky "continue their misadventures from skydiving to solving the mystery of Porky’s missing pants!" as well as the iconic showdowns between Sylvester and Tweety along with Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner. Speaking of Wile E Coyote, Warner Bros. recently announced that its animated hybrid Coyote vs. Acme will be releasing in theaters on July 21, 2013.
HBO Max is adding a ton of new animated shows and movies this month, including a huge batch of former DC Universe shows. Already added to the streaming service as of today, January 1, is Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond and more.
