Deadpool fans were let down when it was announced that Donald Glover's highly anticipated animated series, based on the iconic merc, was cancelled.

CEO of FX John Landgraf recently revealed, during the Television Critics Association press tour, that he believes we'll eventually get a Deadpool animated series - it just unfortunately wont be Glover's. Here's what he told Variety:

I think that Marvel will revive it because they have the rights. They own the IP and they have the rights to do an animated adult series based on any of the X-Men characters, and based on Deadpool specifically.

This comes after Landgraf revealed that it was Marvel themselves who pulled the plug on the series. FX themselves were fully on-board with the series, as Landgraf explained:

They didn’t want to do the show that Donald and Stephen [Glover] wrote. We would have done the show that Donald and Stephen wrote, but it wasn’t our decision. When Marvel decided not to do that show, we parted company with them as did Donald and Stephen. Now it’s totally up to them [Marvel] whether they hire someone else to do a different show.

What do you think of Landgraf's comments? Would you like to see a Deadpool animated series in the same vain as Glover's?
