Production on the live-action series will begin on February 2020. While little is known of what Netflix has planned, updates on the status of the highly anticipated show will be upon us in the weeks to come.

It is unusual that with such an imminent start date, no casting announcements have been made yet. Rest assured, there will be a ton of Avatar news next month.

With the Fire Nation on the brink of global domination, a young girl and her brother discover a 12-year old Airbender who reveals himself as the Avatar. Will this irresponsible kid accept his destiny in time to save the world?
