Marc Guggenheim is known for many comic book-related projects, but one of his key achievements was creating the mega-franchise The Arrowverse. Beginning with Arrow, the universe exploded with The Flash, Supergirl, Black Lightning, Constantine, Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Stargirl, Superman & Lois, and the ultimate cross-over culmination, Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Guggenheim became instrumental to Netflix and Guillermo del Toro's Tales of Arcadia franchise with his successful background in that particular ring house. Weaving together Wizards, 3-Below, and Trollhunters, all of the characters and worlds combined with last week's release of Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans.

Since Marc also writes comics for the Tales of Arcadia franchise, he has his hands in multiple mediums. So when we got the chance to exclusively interview Guggenheim in support of the new Netflix and Dreamworks success, we made sure to touch on how the comics differentiated themselves from the animated series. The following are his remarks regarding that portion of our chat.

"There are huge differences between the medium of animation and the medium of comic books. Our approach would have to become eccentric in order to justify doing a comic book. Also, it really would be dictated in large part to what the story is that we're telling.

I try very hard to let the story try to drive many answers to these questions rather than the reverse where you're sort of retro-fitting in certain things like format and medium and length to the story. Let the story drive it is always the best approach in my experience."

He also spoke a bit about the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow Beebo Christmas Special, the Arrowverse, and the HBO Max Green Lantern series he's working on. You can watch it all for yourself on Literary Joe's Inner Child Podcast below.

Marc Guggenheim is back, this time to promote his upcoming film Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. The new movie is a culmination of three DreamWorks Netflix series, Wizards, Trollhunters, and 3-Below in an Avengers-style crossover event.

While chatting with Marc, we obviously had to dig into his Legends of Tomorrow work, and we learned a lot about how the show is structured, ideas that don't always make it in the show at first, and most importantly, the upcoming Beebo Christmas Special.

We also get the opportunity to talk about the new Green Lantern series on HBO Max that Marc is handling, and he explained how grateful he is to get another crack at the Emerald Knight after his film with Ryan Reynolds didn't end up how he planned.

What are your thoughts on Marc's comments? Are you eager to watch Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans?
