TROLLHUNTERS: RISE OF THE TITANS Exclusive Video Interview With ARROW-VERSE Creator Marc Guggenheim
Ahead of this Wednesday's release of Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans we got the opportunity to speak with writer Marc Guggenheim exclusively about the new film and you can watch the entire chat below!
One of the reasons that Guillermo Del Toro's Tales of Arcadia franchise has been so successful is due to the inclusion of Marc Guggenheim in the creative team. And with the new film culminating everything that has happened in all three of the shows, Guggenheim is excited to talk about the road it took to get here.
If you're unfamiliar with the Tales of Arcadia IP, it is a powerhouse animated franchise from Netflix and DreamWorks alongside celebrated director Guillermo del Toro. Three series have been released entitled 3-Below, Wizards, and Trollhunters, and Wednesday sees the ultimate crossover event release on the streamer with a film entitled Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans.
Here's where Marc Guggenheim's particular expertise comes in handy. Having successfully created The Arrow-Verse, which consists of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Batwoman, Black Lightning, Stargirl, Superman & Lois, and many other shows. All of the characters in these shows get Avengers-style crossovers each year, with the biggest and most ambitious owed to Guggenheim himself with Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Given the opportunity to pick Marc's brain in an exclusive video chat, we were able to ask him about how his experience translated to the Netflix shows, especially when bringing all of the teams together for Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. He also spoke a bit about the upcoming Legends of Tomorrow Beebo Christmas Special and the HBO Max Green Lantern series he's working on, and you can watch it all for yourself on Literary Joe's Inner Child Podcast below.
Marc Guggenheim is back, this time to promote his upcoming film Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. The new movie is a culmination of three DreamWorks Netflix series, Wizards, Trollhunters, and 3-Below in an Avengers-style crossover event.
While chatting with Marc, we obviously had to dig into his Legends of Tomorrow work, and we learned a lot about how the show is structured, ideas that don't always make it in the show at first, and most importantly, the upcoming Beebo Christmas Special.
We also get the opportunity to talk about the new Green Lantern series on HBO Max that Marc is handling, and he explained how grateful he is to get another crack at the Emerald Knight after his film with Ryan Reynolds didn't end up how he planned.
