Primal will soon return with 5 new episodes and the latest teaser trailer from Adult Swim shows that the Genndy Tartakovsky creation will have a heavy, supernatural influence as all manner of nightmarish monsters will be after the dynamic duo of Fang and Spear.
After airing a new episode on April 1 as part of Cartoon Network's April Fool's Day celebration, Primal is confirmed to return with a new batch of episodes to finish out its stellar first season on October 4. Additionally, the show has already been renewed for a 10-episode second season that will air some time in 2021.
Recently, the show picked up 3 Emmy awards in the Outstanding Individual Achievement in Animation category as Tartakovsky, art director Scott Wills , and character designer Stephen DeStefano were all honored.
The empathically violent show is punctuated by slow moments and the fact that there is no spoken dialogue between its two main protagonist. Primal relies on visual storytelling and suggestive soundtrack to clue viewers in on what's happening.
