X-MEN '97: Wolverine Voice Actor Drops Major Season 2 Bombshell In Now-Deleted Social Media Post

In a now-deleted social media post, X-Men: The Animated Series star Cal Dodd, the voice of Wolverine, has confirmed he's already hard at work on a second season of Disney+'s upcoming X-Men '97 revival...

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige started his career in Hollywood working on the X-Men movies, so we really shouldn't be surprised at the way he's handled their presence in the MCU thus far.

As well as bringing Sir Patrick Stewart back as Professor X for a cameo role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Hugh Jackman has come out of his Wolverine retirement to wield Logan's claws one more (final?) time in Deadpool 3. The beloved X-Men: The Animated Series is also being revived as X-Men '97, with the show set to arrive on Disney+ later this year.

However, Wolverine voice actor Cal Dodd has confirmed he's already working on season 2!

In a now-deleted Tweet (a fan managed to save the video which you can see below), he wrote, "Yesterday. Studio. Season 2. GREAT session!" In the video itself, the actor would add, "Cal Dodd, voice of Wolverine from X-Men '97. The beginning of Season 2, I say, just the beginning. Strap your seatbelts on, bub. Later."

Needless to say, he jumped the gun with that announcement!

Disney and Marvel Studios have yet to chime in, and we wouldn't anticipate them commenting on or confirming Dodd's unexpected season 2 reveal. The fact he's recording dialogue suggests those episodes have already been written, and we can't help but wonder how long this X-Men: The Animated Series follow-up will stick around.

X-Men: The Animated Series aired from 1992 to 1997, and many of the show's original voice actors have been enlisted for this revival. X-Men '97 was first announced at the end of 2021, with this follow-up airing on Disney+ sometime in 2023.

Be sure to keep checking back here for updates as we have them.
