With
Batman: Hush now available, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has turned its attention towards its next home release of 2019 -
Wonder Woman: Bloodlines. Courtesy of IGN, the official trailer has been released, providing us with our first look at the upcoming animated movie.
While plot details were previously unknown, it now appears that
Wonder Woman: Bloodlines will be a retelling of Diana's origin story in which she saves fighter pilot Steve Trevor and becomes Earth's ambassador and protector - earning her the name "Wonder Woman." That's only part of the adventure though, as Wonder Woman will take on Villainy, Inc., the deadly organization comprised of several criminal members - Silver Swan, Giganta, Cheetah, to name a few - who have their sights set on invading Themyscira.
Check out the trailer and synopsis for
Wonder Woman: Bloodlines below.
In Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, Amazon princess Diana of Themyscira chooses to save fighter pilot Steve Trevor and return him to his home in America - setting in motion one of Wonder Woman's most captivating chapters. Fulfilling the role of both ambassador as well as protector, Diana soon earns the name Wonder Woman from the gracious people of Earth. Equally strong in body, heart and will, she makes it her mission to help a troubled young girl enlisted by a deadly organization known as Villainy, Inc., whose criminal members have their sights set on invading Themyscira, Diana's paradise home.
Wonder Woman: Bloodlines is slated to release on October 22, 2019. It is the twelfth feature length film in the DC Animated Film Universe, but just the first animated movie to star Wonder Woman since 2009. There was, of course, Patty Jenkins' live-action
Wonder Woman in 2017 with a sequel,
Wonder Woman 1984, releasing this November.
