On February 14th, Sonic the Hedgehog races into theatres for the first time in his very own live-action feature film. Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden plays Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter plays Maddie Wachowski, and (last but certainly not least) Ben Schwartz plays Sonic the Hedgehog. Jeff Fowler serves as director.

The upcoming movie won't only feature those big names but also Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child. Those four feature in a new song called "Speed Me Up" that was recently released online (via Gamefragger).

There's a cool, new music video for the song that features quite a few nods to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise such as mentions of Tails, Knuckles, golden rings, and much more. The video is predominantly animated using 16-bit graphics — an ode to the classic style of Sonic the Hedgehog

You can check out the official music video for "Speed Me Up" below:

Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

Sonic the Hedgehog speeds into theatres on February 14th, 2020.
