On February 14th,
Sonic the Hedgehog races into theatres for the first time in his very own live-action feature film. Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden plays Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter plays Maddie Wachowski, and (last but certainly not least) Ben Schwartz plays Sonic the Hedgehog. Jeff Fowler serves as director.
The upcoming movie won't only feature those big names but also Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty, and Sueco the Child. Those four feature in a new song called
"Speed Me Up" that was recently released online (via
Gamefragger).
There's a cool, new music video for the song that features quite a few nods to the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise such as mentions of Tails, Knuckles, golden rings, and much more. The video is predominantly animated using 16-bit graphics — an ode to the classic style of
Sonic the Hedgehog.
