Will Nic Cage's Spider-Man Noir Appear In SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE?

Despite the fact Nicolas Cage recently said he hasn't been asked to return for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, we now have a positive update on whether we can expect Spider-Man Noir to be in the sequel.

The legend that is Nicolas Cage has made quite the impact in the comic book movie realm, even if he did miss out on playing Superman once upon a time! After starring in movies like Ghost Rider and Kick-Ass, the actor lent his voice to Spider-Man Noir in 2018's Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Will he return for the upcoming sequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?

Asked that question earlier this year, Cage responded: "You'd have to ask Sony. I don't know what's going on with that. No one's spoken to me about that. Ask them. I don't know. I really don't."

He'd go on to express his love for Spider-Man Noir, while fans shared their outrage over his web-spinner seemingly being excluded from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Sony Pictures may well have taken note, however, as one social media scooper is now claiming Cage's hero does indeed make a cameo appearance.

There's nothing to say the actor will lend his voice to the hero, of course, as Noir might be one of many Spider-Heroes who appear in the background across the course of this adventure. Plus, as much as we love Cage, what more can be done with the Peter Parker Variant that we didn't see last time around?

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Written by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham, and directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on June 2, 2023.
