There's certainly no shortage of cameos and references to various properties under the House of Mouse featured in Pixar's upcoming CGI-animated film Ralph Breaks the Internet. But, directors Rich Moore and Phil Johnston revealed one joke in particular that Disney preferred they not include in the movie. It involved Star Wars villain Kylo Ren, an intimidating character who can sometimes come of as a bit of a brat.

“At one point we had a joke about Kylo Ren being kind of a spoiled child,” revealed director Rich Moore. “We went to Lucasfilm and said, here’s what we’re doing. And they said, well, we’d prefer that you don’t show him as a spoiled child. You know, he is our villain, and we’d prefer you don’t do that. So we were respectful of that.”

There's no denying Kylo Ren is an incredibly intriguing villain and, at times, he can be downright scary. But sometimes when things don't go his way, he throws these incredible temper tantrums. When this happens, the intimidating figure that we're all supposed to fear resembles more of a spoiled child throwing a fit because he can't get his way.

Although it's a common joke on the internet at this point, it's probably for the best that Pixar didn't include the joke in their film. Even though Ralph Breaks the Internet contains all sorts of cameos and references, the filmmakers explained that the point of including these beloved Disney characters in the movie is to "honor who these characters are" and respect their history while taking "playful jabs."

Despite what fans may think of Kylo Ren's tantrums, the history of the character is that of a powerful villain who can't control his anger. Pixar is known for sneaking sly references and jokes into their films, but calling Kylo Ren a spoiled child would tarnish what the character's history is supposed to be.

On the bright side, Ralph Breaks the Internet does have another Star Wars cameo that fans will appreciate. C-3PO will serve as a butler for the Disney princesses - something that director Phil Johnston said "felt like that's of his character."

"It's really loving satire that we're doing," he added.

“Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a webite entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”

Ralph Breaks the Internet hits theaters November 21, 2018.
