After two successful months in theatres, home release versions of
Detective Pikachu are now available to be pre-ordered (via
Gamefragger). The live-action
Pokemon movie will release digitally, on DVD, Blu-Ray, and Ultra HD/4K. A steelbook version is also available. The price of the different home releases ranges from $20 to $35.
While all of these versions are currently able to be pre-ordered from various retailers, we don't know yet exactly when they will release. Similarly, we also don't know much about the film's special features.
We do know one, however: Detective Mode. What that name entails, we can only guess. It's likely a mode that you can activate which will run alongside the actual film and offer prompts that will take you to behind-the-scenes featurettes when clicked. Though that's just a guess.
Synopsis: Ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son, Tim, to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokémon partner, wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth Detective Pikachu. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces to unravel the tangled mystery.
