We've known for a while now that Disney's beloved princesses would be appearing in Walt Disney Animation's
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 and courtesy of USA Today, we now have our first look at them. The image features Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) as she appears to be meeting Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Pocahontas, Elsa, Anna, Moana, Rapunzel, and Tiana. According to director Rich Moore, all of the original living actresses were brought on to reprise their princess characters, including Mandy Moore as Rapunzel, Auli'i Cravalho as Moana and Idina Menzel as Elsa.
Two other images were also released, including another with Vanellope meeting website entrepreneur Yesss (Taraji P. Henson), the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.” As USA Today explains, Yesss
"wants to make Ralph hip and cool, too, by promoting his viralness."
Henson explains of her character: Yes is
“a little snooty because she is smart and she does know the Internet so well. But then she kind of takes a liking to the big lug. There’s something about a really smart person empowering someone who is not as intelligent — it’s like, ‘Wow, see, I’m so good even I can teach you something.’ ”
While we're on the subject of princesses, Henson refers to her character as one with her kingdom being the internet.
"Her tiara is her hair and her ballgown might be a fur coat - digital fur, so no animals died."
And finally, there's KnowsMore (Alan Tudyk), the know-it-all search engine with an Autofill function that finds him finishing people's sentences.
"Vanellope’s been in the Internet all of one minute and she immediately gets it. And Ralph takes it personally as an affront to him," explains director Rich More, adding that KnowsMore is
"a little Truman Capote, a little Droopy dog from the old MGM cartoons and a little Mr. Peabody.
Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 opens in theaters November 21.
