One of the most influential films in 1986 for the younger audience was Transformers: The Movie. From changing the status quo to ushering in some of the most beautiful animation ever put on camera, (and of course the amazing soundtrack), the film is undoubtedly a staple of 80s cinema.
Hasbro has also been hard at work in bringing the "spark" back to the franchise with the new War For Cybertron trilogy toy line and the Studio Series line, which brings the films from the movies back in toy form. Now, it looks like the film that started it all is getting the toy attention it deserves!
Two of the newest announcements from the Studio Series like begin with Voyager Class Hot Rod, who comes with a ton of accessories and a backdrop of the bowls of Unicron when he opens the Matrix of Leadership. The second character is a G1 classic; the smooth-talking and always hip Deluxe Class Jazz. With a moon base backdrop, Jazz also comes with a weapon accessory, and both are fully transformable while giving the best screen likeness imaginable.
There are whispers that even more figures from the film will be on their way, but until then, Hot Rod ($29.99) and JAzz ($19.99) will release in February of next year! We would love to hear your thoughts on the new figures in the comments below!
The heroic Autobots defend their homeworld Cybertron from the evil Decepticons. Both factions are seething with anger, and that hatred has blinded them to a hideous menace headed their way.
The new figures based on Transformers: The Movie are available for pre-order now on Hasbro Pulse!
