TOY STORY 4: What Buzz Lightyear's Hair Looks Like According To Tim Allen

The voice actor of Buzz Lightyear, Tim Allen, recently discussed what he thinks the character's hair might look like below his standard-issue Star Command balaclava. Hit the jump...

It's been a quarter of a century since the Toy Story franchise began, with the first instalment in what would become a quadrilogy releasing in 1995. The following Toy Story films would release in 1999 and 2010. Now, the fourth instalment is set to release in just over a week.

And in all that time of Woody and Buzz being household names, you would be forgiven if you had never even had a passing thought about what the latter's hair may look like below his astronaut headgear. Well, his voice actor, Tim Allen has apparently considered it. After a bit of joking about Buzz suffering from male patterened baldness, Allen told Comicbook.com the following:

"He has [male] pattern baldness underneath there and that balaclava he wears is for fireproofing. No, actually he has a beautiful head of hair underneath there. It's rather curly and he's got a man bun."

It's bizarre enough to imagine Buzz having hair, let alone a man bun. It would be funny if the Star Command balaclava pops off during an action scene or something, only for an enormous afro or man bun to poof out. Though that would obviously be nonsensical given that the character's balaclava is plastic and literally irremovable from his head.

So, while we will never seen what's below that purple cap, it's at least funny to consider the Space Ranger rocking some different hairstyles. Have you ever thought about what Buzz Lightyear's hair would look like?

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.

Toy Story 4 is set to arrive in theatres on June 21st, 2019.
