Though the fan-favourite character of Bo Peep was absent from the third installment, the Toy Story franchise isn't done with her just yet. Along with the anouncement of the fourth film came details teasing Bo Peeps' return.
Annie Potts, the voice of Bo Peep, recently discussed her enlarged role with RadioTimes. Potts explained being left out of Toy Story 3:
That hurt my feelings a little bit - but John [Lasseter, Pixar’s chief creative officer] explained to me the reason was because they were saving me for 4.
As teased with the anouncement of Toy Story 4, the upcoming sequel will follow Woody and Buzz’s search for the porcelain doll. Potts confirmed that this time around she'd be playing a much larger part than in previous installments, “I have a big part! I’m thrilled!”
Despite plentiful rewrites, Potts hinted that the plot Lasseter teased in 2014 (that being a love story between, Tom Hanks' character, Woody and Bo Peep) would still make it into the final product. Speaking about her time in the recording studio, the actress said:
Most of it is with Tom [Hanks, who voices Woody]. I’ve never done any animation before where you got to work with the other actors. [Normally it’s] just a single voice at a time. But because of the nature of what we’re doing, we’ve been having Tom and me together. That’s fun! That is really fun!
What do you think about Potts' comments? Are you excited to see Bo Peep return to the Toy Story franchise?
