BoxOfficePro recently took a look into how much
Toy Story 4 should be expected to rake in from its opening weekend. Set to release on June 21st, it will have been a massive nine years since the last instalment in the beloved franchise.
Toy Story 3 released in 2010 and seemingly brought an end to the series. This was evidently not the case, however, as 2018 would see the announcement of a fourth.
Its this seeming betrayal of
Toy Story 3's heartwrenching ending that may prove detrimental to the film's Box Office. According to the site's report,
Toy Story 4 could bring in anywhere from $105 million to $130 million during its opening weekend.
Box Office Pro did list some things in favour of the film's Box Office, they are as follows: the fourth instalment's trailers seem to have been receieved rather positively and there will be a whole, new generation of children yet to experience a
Toy Story film within theatres (on account of the long amount of time since the last instalment). There's also the fact that this will be
"the last tentpole, computer-animated comedy of the summer."
Synopsis: Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
Toy Story 4 will be releasing in theatres on June 21st, 2019.
