The fourth instalment in the
Toy Story film series is set to release in just a couple of days. Already totting up a ton of positive reviews, the question in no longer whether
Toy Story 4 will be any good and now whether there will be a
Toy Story 5.
/Film recently did an interview with, the director of
Toy Story 4, Josh Cooley and, one of the film's producers, Mark Nielsen. The team of creatives revealed that they and Pixar apparently haven't had any conversations about a fifth instalment, instead focusing on bringing the fourth to fruition.
Cooley on whether there have been conversations:
"It has not happened, and I one hundred percent agree with you. I would be totally happy if this was the end."
Nielsen explained that they've been concentrating on
Toy Story 4 rather than any kind of continuation, however, he does seem to leave the door open for a fifth:
"We’ve been totally focused on four, so we haven’t really thought beyond that. I mean, we never know what the future holds. We didn’t think there was going to be a four. We didn’t think there was going to be a three after we finished two!"
While all signs are currently pointing to
Toy Story 4 being the final instalment in the animated film series, the same could've been said about
Toy Story 3 until the fourth instalment was announced.
Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
Toy Story 4 is set to arrive in theatres on June 21st, 2019.
