Toy Story 4 arrived in theatres four months ago but the franchise as a whole began almost a quarter of a century ago. What with multiple instalments having released in those twenty-five years, fans of the animated franchise have had plenty of time and material to concoct some pretty interesting theories to do with the
Toy Story films.
For example; during
Toy Story 2, we're shown Jessie's original owner: Emily. She wore a red hat with white lace woven into it. An identical hat can be seen in later and earlier scenes atop Andy's head. Because of this, as well as that we don't know the name of Andy's mother, many believe that Emily and her may be one and the same — and she passed her cowboy hat down to her son.
That's just one of the many renowned theories that have been crafted out of speculation to do with seemingly unimportant details. There are also plenty to do with Andy's father and the reason for his absence. In a new video from
Vanity Fair, both the director and producer of
Toy Story 4 react to some of these theories and provide answers!

Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
Toy Story 4 is now available on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and digitally.
