TEEN TITANS GO! To the MOVIES Review: A Lot of DC Bashing

Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is not the best because most of what it brings to the table are designed for children. But at the end of the day, it works, especially if you're into DC jokes.

It’s late, but we’ve finally managed to watch Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, and we have to say, it’s not bad. When you go into the theaters to watch this movie, just bear in mind it’s primarily a film designed for children.

One important thing about Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, is the fact that it shares a few things with Deadpool. No, there’s no curse words or any form of R rated content, but when it comes down to making fun of DC movies, Teen Titans Go! To the Movies does a wonderful job.

There are a few Marvel jokes here and there, but the DC comedy scenes stand out more because the cinematic universe is in a bind right now due to multiple failures back-to-back.

Now, if you’re a person who loves the dark tone of the original Teen Titans series that aired on Cartoon Network in the past, you won’t find solace here, but if you sit through the end credits, there’s a good chance you’ll feel the rush of the past returning.

You see, what Warner Bros. has brought to the table with this movie, is basically a massive Teen Titans Go episode due to the high number of gags. Expect these gags to prolong their welcome at times, but they shouldn’t be enough to turn you off.

What about the plot?

To be honest, there’s not much to talk about here. You see, every superhero is getting their own movie, so as it stands, the Teen Titans want in on the action.

Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy, decided that they should have a nemesis before they could get their own movie. Therefore, the team went out to find one, but at the same time, Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) is watching from the shadows.

We have to say, though, that the animation and the voice actors were top class from start to finish. Too bad the writing and the comedy failed to keep up 100 percent of the time, but that is probably in large due to the target audience.

You won’t be returning for seconds after watching the film for the first time, nor would you want to purchase the Blu-Ray, but that’s not a problem because for what it is, it works.

At least Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is much better than Slender Man. Please, stay far away from that garbage of a movie.
