20th Century Studios has announced the home release of Blu Sky Studios'
Spies in Disguise. The CGI-animated, spy comedy will arrive on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on March 10.
Spies in Disguise is loosely based on Lucas Martell's 2009 indie short film
Pigeon: Impossible, which became a viral hit on YouTube before getting optioned by Chernin Entertainment (partnered with Fox Animation, which owns Blue Sky Studios). It stars Will Smith (
Aladdin) as super spy Lance Sterling and Tom Holland (
Spider-Man) as scientist Walter Beckett. After a "biodynamic concealment" experiment accidentally transforms Lance into a pigeon, the unlikely duo are forced to team up for a mission to save the world.
20th Century Studios did release a home release announcement trailer for the movie, but it doesn't detail some of the special features and bonuses that'll likely be included. Still, we can probably expect bonus scenes, gag reals, making-of features, and more.
Spies in Disguise grossed $163.48 million worldwide. It was a critical success, however, with a 75% on
Rotten Tomatoes and an audience score of 91%.
