Some pretty major news for Spidey fans here, as Variety has got wind of a couple of significant updates for several planned projects during last night Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse premiere.

First up, producer Amy Pascal has officially confirmed that a fourth Spider-Man movie featuring Tom Holland's take on the wall-crawler and Zendaya's MJ is in the works... but things have stalled in the wake of the current WGA strike.

“Are we going to make another movie? Of course we are,” she tells the site. “We’re in the process, but the writers' strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

Perhaps more interestingly (since we already had an inkling that a No Way Home follow-up was coming), Pascal announced that a live-action Miles Morales movie is in development.

“You’ll see all of it,” Pascal said when asked about the prospect of Miles making the jump to live-action. “It’s all happening.” Producer Avi Arad added that we will see Spider-Woman solo movie “sooner than you expect.”

He didn't clarify if this is the Olivia Wilde live-action film that was announced some time ago, a completely different project, or an animated Gwen Stacy Spider-Verse spin-off, but the trade seems to feel it's the latter.

Hailee Steinfeld, who voices Gwen in the animated films, is certainly up for reprising the role in any form it may take.

“This is like my dream job, sign me up over and over again,” she said. “I got to be comfortable! And it’s a dream to be in a space that feels so comfortable but also creative and free and just exciting to be a part of.”

It'll probably be a while before we learn any more about these projects, but Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters this weekend, and it does not disappoint (you can check out our review here).

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The confirmed voice cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Oscar Isaac, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Jason Schwartzman, Daniel Kaluuya, Shea Whigham, Jorma Taccone, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Brian Tyree Henry.
