Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings onto Blu-ray this week and Sony has released a special features clip centered on Spider Gwen, one of the film's multiple "Spider People."
In the clip, which is presumably part of the 90 minutes of special features included on the Blu-ray, we hear the cast and crew of Into the Spider-Verse talk about the importance of Spider Gwen.
"Spider Gwen is full of knowledge and energy and life and she's incredibly confident," producer Christina Steinberg says of the character.
"I think that's really important for all girls, just to have somebody who they could look up to."
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
Included in the 90 minutes of bonus content is a special original short, Spider-Ham: Caught In a Ham, which centers on the wise-cracking pig variation of Spider-Man, voiced by the hilarious John Mulaney. The Blu-ray also includes special features like cast interviews, tributes to Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and an Alternate Universe Mode that offers an "all-new viewing experience" with alternate scenes, plotlines, characters and more.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is available on Digital HD and arrives on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on March 19.
