Following Golden Globe and Critics' Choice nominations, Sony's critically-acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is well on its way to earning an Academy Award-nomination and should arguably be the frontrunner to bring home the coveted trophy, which is a remarkable accomplishment for an animated movie based on a comic book.
Sony has now released a full batch of hi-res stills from the movie, featuring Miles, Peter, Gwen and the rest of the principal heroes and villains.
The animated superhero feature, which was co-directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, tells the origin story of Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) and takes him on a dimension-shattering adventure as he partners with a number of Spider-people from different universes, including Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson), Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn), and Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage), to take down the villainous Kingpin (Liev Schreiber) and his sinister allies.
