SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Star Oscar Isaac On Who Would Win In Spider-Man Vs. Moon Knight Fight

Oscar Isaac has had the opportunity to play a number of characters in superhero movies, kicking things off with a divisive take on En Sabah Nur in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse.

The actor was really let down by Bryan Singer's bizarre approach to the villain, with much of his performance lost behind heavy prosthetics. It's no wonder then that he's since called it an "excruciating" experience after being "encased in glue, latex and a 40-pound suit."

Marvel Studios gave Isaac a shot at redemption when he was cast in Moon Knight's title role, though he squeezed in a brief appearance as Spider-Man 2099 before then in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

The actor will reprise that role in a much larger capacity in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Empire (via CBR) recently quizzed him on who he believes would win in a fight: Spider-Man 2099 or Moon Knight.

"It's interesting - they have some similarities, actually," he said of Miguel O'Hara and Marc Spector. "But the unpredictability of Moon Knight, the fact that he’s the man of a million faces...Yeah, I've got to go with Moon Knight on this one."

Asked if he tested his performance as Spider-Man 2099 on his children as he once did with Moon Knight, Isaac responded: "Not really, but I did show them the first teaser [for Across The Spider-Verse], and I don't think I've ever been so proud to show my kids something I've been in."

"But of course, they were like, 'What? Why are you fighting Miles?!' It's nice to share the excitement with them. It's definitely more fun showing them this than showing them Scenes from a Marriage."

In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.

However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

Written by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham, and directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on June 2, 2023.
