The embargo on social media reactions for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has lifted, and it looks like we should ready ourselves for another amazing adventure revolving around Miles Morales.
The Into the Spider-Verse sequel is clearly every bit as astonishing as its predecessor, with Gwen Stacy given the chance to shine here every bit as much as Miles. The animation is, unsurprisingly, also highlighted as are what sound like some massive cameos and surprises (don't worry, there are no spoilers below).
Some critics preferred the 2018 movie - which was to be expected - but it appears the sequel ups the ante and makes good on its promises to be bigger and better than the animated franchise's opening chapter.
As far as we're aware, the review embargo doesn't lift until May 31 but, as you'll also see below, Sony Pictures has already released a TV spot packed full of pull quotes from those.
Here are some of the most noteworthy reactions:
Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn's full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
The movie stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Karan Soni, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is set to be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.
