SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE Official Trailer Is Here And It's Beyond Spectacular!

The official trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has arrived (and at 3 AM no less) and it's every bit as sensational as you've been expecting - and also includes a direct MCU reference!

Sony Pictures has released the official theatrical trailer for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and it's even more spectacular than we could've imagined as Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) returns to face his greatest challenge yet.

Along with the new trailer comes a new synopsis, which reads, "After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most."

From what we can tell, the threat the Spider Society finds themselves up against will force Miles to make a sacrifice of epic proportions and it seems like it may be Miguel O'Hara (Oscar Isaac) may be telling him that, for in order for their plan to succeed, he's going to have to let go of his father, which is obviously a no-go for the Brooklyn-based Spidey - although, it could always be a misdirect.

Of the many fun things to dissect in this action-packed second trailer, which also introduces the villain of the piece, Spot (Jason Schwartzman), the most obvious reference fans should immediately pick up on is a direct shoutout to the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Around the 1:13 mark, Miguel name-drops Earth-199999, a.k.a. the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and calls out Tom Holland's "nerd" Spidey and Doctor Strange for messing with the multiverse, which is hopefully only a sign of things to come as the film has been heavily rumored to feature cameos from Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield.

The stellar cast features the voices of Shameik Moore (Miles Morales/Spider-Man), Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman), Jake Johnson (Peter B. Parker/Spider-Man), Issa Rae (Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman), Daniel Kaluuya (Hobart Brown/Spider-Punk), Karan Soni (Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India), Jason Schwartzman (Spot), Brian Tyree Henry (Jefferson Davis), Luna Lauren Velez (Rio Morales), Greta Lee (Lyla), Rachel Dratch (Counselor), Jorma Taccone (Vulture), Shea Whigham (George Stacy), and Oscar Isaac (Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099).

The film will also introduce a ton of new Spider-People, including, but not limited to, the Japanese Spider-Man, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Man PS4, Spectacular Spider-Man, Spider-Man Unlimited, Spider-Byte, Superior Spider-Man, Spider-Wolf, and, as mentioned above, there are heavy rumblings that the three live-action Spideys will also show up.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings exclusively into theaters on June 2, 2023.

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar®-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man™: Across the Spider-Verse. After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
