The first merchandise for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been revealed, and we can't help but wonder whether these Funko Pops are a precursor to a new trailer!
So, who do we have altogether? There's Spider-Man India, Spider-Punk, Spider-Byte, Scarlet Spider, Spider-Woman, Miles Morales in his new costume, Spider-Gwen, The Spot, Spider-Man 2099, and Medieval Vulture.
Visually, these heroes look even more unique than those we spent time with in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and this sequel is clearly embracing the comic book Spider-Verse in a big way. It's interesting that Spider-Man 2099 has been grouped with some of the movie's villains, though we have previously heard he'll be an antagonist.
Take a closer look at these new Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Funko Pops below.
In Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, after reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence.
However, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
While lots of rumours are swirling, in terms of confirmed cast members, the movie will star Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld. Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez, Greta Lee, Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone, Shea Whigham, and Oscar Isaac.
Written by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller and David Callaham, and directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, Justin K. Thompson, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on June 2, 2023.
