Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse featured countless wall-crawling Variants, and it won't be until we get to watch it again on Digital/Blu-ray that we're able to take a deep dive into exactly how many show up in the sequel.
Concept artist Kris Anka was tasked with designing a whole heap of Spider-People, and has now confirmed that Man-Spider was among them. Unfortunately, the monstrous Peter Parker - who first debuted in Spider-Man: The Animated Series before making the leap to the comics - ended up on the cutting room floor!
As Anka explains in his Tweets below, the idea was that Man-Spider would use his extra appendages to serve up food in the Spider-Society's cafeteria.
It's a pretty hilarious approach to the character, albeit one it appears there wasn't room for in Across the Spider-Verse. We're assuming there's a chance he could show up in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, though we can't discount the possibility there are live-action plans for him too.
