Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is fast approaching and Sony Pictures just dropped a new still from the highly anticipated sequel.
In that, Spider-Man 2099 can be seen making his way through what appears to be Nueva York, but upon closer inspection, we see Spider-Gwen in hot pursuit. Based on what's been shown in the trailers, she and Miles Morales will reject whatever Miguel O'Hara is planning for the Spider-Verse, turning that hero into an unexpected antagonist!
Last year, writer and producer Chris Miller said, "[Spider-Man 2099 is] not the villain of the movie, but he's sort of an antagonist to Miles because they both think that what they're doing is the right thing."
There are high hopes for the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse follow-up, and we're definitely excited to see how Spider-Man 2099 factors into this story. Visually, he looks amazing, and we're sure he and Miles will eventually end up fighting side-by-side here!
Take a closer look at that newly released Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse still below.
