Back when the
Sonic the Hedgehog movie was officially revealed to the world back in April 2019, fans were far from pleased with the titular character's design. Thankfully, director Jeff Fowler promptly announced that they would delay the movie in order to redo the character design. The second time around, Sonic's character design was much more well-received.
However, it wasn't only the titular speedster's body and face that were remodelled but also his iconic, red shoes. Fans quickly noticed that they featured the PUMA logo on them and the sportswear brand soon retweeted the movie's trailer with the quote
"Nice kicks fam," seemingly teasing that they were going to make them a reality (via

Even more recently, PUMA took to Instagram with a brief and animated promotional clip that features Sonic the Hedgehog fitting his shoes alongside a PUMA shoebox. The promo ends with the words
"Coming soon," onscreen and we can only imagine that this means you will soon be able to purchase and wear your own pair of Sonic's shoes sometime soon.
