On February 14th,
Sonic the Hedgehog arrives in theatres. Starring Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, James Marsden, and Tika Sumpter; the upcoming, live-action movie is based on the iconic video game franchise of the same name. The former two of the aforementioned actors play the titular speedster and the dastardly Dr. Robotnik respectively.
After the Marvel Cinematic Universe popularised the concept of a post-credits scene, audiences have come to expect them at the end of any and all blockbusters. For the unsure; post-credits scenes are brief clips that play in the midst or at the end of a movie's credits. They often feature a gag to do with the movie that player prior or a tease for a follow-up.
We recently found out that the upcoming, live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie will feature two of them (via
Gamefragger). The first plays in the middle of the credits and the other comes about a minute or two afterwards. What will be included in these post-credits scenes?
Well, we can only speculate that the first will likely be a joke to do with the movie itself but the second one will probably be a tease for a sequel. We can only hope that it will perhaps include a glimpse at Tails, Knuckles, Amy, or any other classic
Sonic the Hedgehog characters.
Based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG tells the story of the world’s speediest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy, Sonic and his new best friend Tom (James Marsden) team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) and his plans for world domination. The family-friendly film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
