Sonic the Hedgehog finally arrived in theatres on February 14th. The live-action movie is based on the iconic video game series of the same name and stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of the titular character. As well as Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski; the
Sonic the Hedgehog movie featured James Marsden as Tom Wachowski.
However, some new concept art may reveal that Marsden wasn't always the one to play the police officer. The first of three pieces of official production artwork that recently surfaced online features Chris Evans as Tom Wachowski alongside the former character design for the titular speedster. Evans is, of course, known for playing Captain America in
The Avengers — and whatnot.
Additionally, other concept art reveals a haunting villain that didn't make it into the final product. Fans believe this nefarious being could have something to do with Lyric from the
Sonic Boom animated series — as they're both reptilian. He's wielding a staff with a glowing jewel at its end. That couldn't possibly be a Chaos Emerald, could it?

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
