Earlier this year, Paramount Pictures debuted the very first trailer for the
Sonic the Hedgehog movie. Suffice it to say, fans of the speedster didn't take too kindly to the uncanny, realistic look of the character. Promptly after the backlash, the director of
Sonic the Hedgehog announced that they would delay the film to rework the design.
Months later, some leaked images surfaced online and revealed our first look at the redesign. Sonic now has a more familiar look with gloves, larger eyes, and red running shoes. Last month, a photo of a theatre standee did the rounds and seemed to confirm that the leaked images were legitimate (via
Gamefragger).
Now another photo of a theatre standee has surfaced online and revealed yet another look at the redesign. The design of the titular speedster is consistent with both the aforementioned leaked images as well as the other theatre standee. This standee allows us a look at Sonic from a more front-on angle. As well, we can see Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik — who seems to have not been subject to a redesign.
