On February 14th, the live-action
Sonic the Hedgehog movie finally arrived in theatres. Ben Schwartz serves as the voice of the titular character while Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik.
Given that the movie is out now, we know what features in its two post-credits scenes (via
Gamefragger). Below is a description of each of them — so it's best to opt out now if you're concerned about spoilers.
First of all, we're shown what has become of Dr. Robotnik following his banishment to a horrible world that seemingly solely consisted of mushrooms. Some even think this could be a reference to the world of
Super Mario Bros. but that's doubtful.
Carrey's Robotnik seems to have lost his marbles even more than he already had as he's seen speaking to a rock and walking around like a literal robot.
"A lesser man would die here. I'll be home by Christmas," the dastardly villains says to himself with a sparkling, blue quill of Sonic's in-hand as well as a backpack of broken pieces from his shattered hovercraft.
The second scenes reveals Tails! This popular and iconic character jumps through a portal and winds up on Earth. After reading calculations from his handheld scanner, the anthropomorphic fox joyously celebrates that he has finally found Sonic! He promptly speeds off in much the same way that Sonic would.
Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
