Paramount Pictures released, back in April of this year, the first trailer for the first live-action
Sonic the Hedgehog movie, and it was a complete, and utter disaster; with fans horrified at the new design that Sonic had been given.
Sonic the Hedgehog movie Director Jeff Fowler quickly addressed fans' concerns, announcing that the message was loud and clear — and that they would be redesigning Sega's beloved character. Eventually, Paramount also announced that the movie was no longer being released in November, but on the
14th of February in 2020.
Today, Paramount Pictures completely redeemed themselves by releasing a phenomenal new trailer that not only captures the essence of the Blue Blur, but also manages to faithfully depict him; making Sonic look exactly like his video game counterpart.
Now that the new trailer for the
Sonic the Hedgehog movie is out, the people over at GameXplain have released a comparison video that compares Sonic's old design with the new one, and the differences will really make fans pat themselves in the back for voicing their discontent back in April when the first trailer released.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog is spin-dashing into theatres on the 14th of February in 2020.
