Sonic the Hedgehog will race into theatres for the first time in less than one month! Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey play the titular speedster and the nefarious Dr. Robotnik respectively. Jeff Fowler directs and the cast also includes James Marsden and Tika Sumpter as Tom and Maddie Wachowski.
With the film's release fast approaching, Paramount Pictures has begun to release TV spots. In one of the newest, we see that Sonic the Hedgehog will begin the movie with a raggedy pair of sneakers before being provided the iconic, red ones that fans will surely recognise. Sonic is given these new shoes by a little girl who appears to be the daughter of Tom and Maddie.
Additionally, there's a bit of new footage which shows off the titular speedster taking on Robotnik's menacing and explosive drones. Unfortunately, the TV spot is entirely dubbed in Brazilian which means that we have absolutely no idea what anybody is saying throughout. Regardless, you can check it out below (via

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog races into theatres on February 14th, 2020.
