Sonic the Hedgehog will race into theatres in just over a month's time. The upcoming, live-action movie is based on the popular video game series of the same name and stars Ben Schwartz as the titular character. Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik and the cast also include James Marsden and Tika Sumpter. Jeff Fowler directs.
Paramount Spain recently hinted at the introduction of a brand new character to the franchise's canon. It seems that throughout Sonic the Hedgehog's formative years, the speedster was accompanied by an owl by the name of Longclaw.
Tails' Channel was apparently able to confirm these rumours and reports.
This is the first we're hearing of other anthropomorphic characters featuring in the live-action film than just Sonic the Hedgehog. Though there hasn't been any mention of them thus far, perhaps there's still hope that the film will feature the likes of Amy, Knuckles, and Tails. Below you can check out the relevant tweets (via
