In less than a month's time,
Sonic the Hedgehog will arrive in theaters. The upcoming, live-action movie is based on the popular video game series and character of the same name and stars Ben Schwartz as the titular speedster. Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden and Tika Sumpter play Tom and Maddie Wachowski while Jeff Fowler directs.
With the movie's release fast approaching, TV spots have begun to surface online. One of the newest has sent the Sonic the Hedgehog fanbase into a frenzy as it seems to be hinting that Super Sonic will feature in the upcoming movie. If you're unfamiliar with Super Sonic; that's the title that Sonic goes by when he's yellow and imbued with the power of the Chaos Emeralds.
He's very powerful in that form and capable of flight, time travel, electrokinesis, and much more. Hence why it would be so exciting to see on the big screen. Well, this new TV spot features a bunch of explosive action but also a namedrop of
"Super Sonic." We can only hope that this is a hint at what's to come. Check it out below (via

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog races into theatres on February 14th, 2020.
