Sonic the Hedgehog will race into theatres for the first time in just one month! Ben Schwartz and Jim Carrey play the titular speedster and the nefarious Dr. Robotnik respectively. Jeff Fowler directs and the cast also includes James Marsden and Tika Sumpter.
Speaking of Sumpter, she hasn't featured in much promotional material up until this point. Recently, some new stills from the upcoming video game movie surfaced online (via
Gamefragger). The aforementioned actress can be seen alongside Marsden's Tom Wachowski in a couple of the images — suggesting that she could perhaps be a love interest for the police officer.
As well, the stills reveal our best look yet at Carrey as Dr. Robotnik (A.K.A. Eggman). There's also a couple of action-packed shots featuring
Sonic the Hedgehog himself and a few that featured in the film's trailer — though, their colour-grading has been altered slightly since we first saw them.

Sonic the Hedgehog is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
Sonic the Hedgehog races into theatres on February 14th, 2020.
