For those who have been waiting, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has finally arrived on Paramount+. You can now enjoy the wildly popular sequel, which sped to a box office record for the top-grossing video game adaptation of all-time, from the comfort of your home home via the streaming service in the United States and Canada.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will also enjoy a home release on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD on August 9. The physical version of the film will come with nearly an hour of bonus footage, including an exclusive animated short, Sonic Drone Home, starring Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. If you want the full Sonic experience, there will be a two-movie Collection featuring both films available on Digital and Blu-ray.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 sees the Blue Blur return to the big screen and this time he's joined by some fan-favorite friends (and enemies) from the video game franchise. Joining Sonic on this new globe-trotting adventure is beloved sidekick Tails. And he's going to need the help as he faces another test from long-time arch nemesis Dr. Robotnik and his new partner, Knuckles.

Ben Schwartz once again voices Sonic the Hedgehog while Jim Carrey returns as Dr. Robotnik. Idris Elba helps bring Knuckles to life on the big screen while longtime video game voice actor Colleen O'Shaughnessey voices Miles "Tails" Prower.

The world’s favorite blue hedgehog is back for a next-level adventure in SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2. After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles, in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails, and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands. From the filmmakers behind The Fast and the Furious and Deadpool, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 stars James Marsden, Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Adam Pally, and Jim Carrey returning, alongside new additions Shemar Moore, with Idris Elba as the voice of Knuckles, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey as the voice of Tails.

This isn't the last we'll see of Sonic and pals on the big screen. SEGA and Paramount Pictures have already confirmed a third theatrical film coming in 2023. There's also a live action series focused on Knuckles that will be coming to Paramount+ along with a 3D animated series, Sonic Prime, set to debut on Netflix this year.
