Once again the cast of the forthcoming G.I. Joe spinoff, Snake Eyes, has expanded, as a new report has revealed that The Babysitter star Samara Weaving and Takehiro Hira (Girl/Haji) have joined the cast of the Paramount film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Weaving has signed on to play Scarlett, the crossbow-wielding member of G.I. Joe who was previously played by Rachel Nichols in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It's unclear what role she will occupy in the film, but in various incarnations of the character she has a romantic relationship with Snake Eyes.
Unlike Weaving, there are few details on Takehiro Hira's role in the movie, but the folks over at The Wrap reckon he has been tapped to play the main villain of the piece. Either way, we'll be sure to keep you updated on any further developments.
Snake Eyes will be directed by Robert Schwentke (Red, R.I.PD.) and is currently slated to hit theaters on October 16, 2020.
