According to a new report by
The Wrap, Paramount's
Snake Eyes movie has cast another actor as an iconic
G.I. Joe character. Robert Schwentke (
Divergent) will direct
Snake Eyes and Evan Spiliotopoulos is responsible for the film's script.
Previously, it had been announced that Henry Golding (
Crazy Rich Asians) will star as the titular commando, Andrew Koji (Warrior) will play Storm Shadow, and Iko Uwais (The Raid) will play Hard Master — the latter two of those characters are the nemesis and mentor of
Snake Eyes respectively.
Now, Úrsula Corberó has reportedly been cast as Baroness in the upcoming, live-action
G.I. Joe movie. The Spanish actress is best known for her roles in
Tokyo and
Money Heist.
The character that Corberó will be playing is a femme fatale villain who serves as lieutenant to Cobra Commander. Notably, Baroness was brought to life on screen prior to now in 2009's
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra — wherein she was played by Sienna Miller.
Snake Eyes will arrive in theaters on October 16th, 2020.
