Following his well-received takes on Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman, director Hideaki Anno's next live-action reboot, Shin Kamen Rider, is now playing in theaters in Japan, and an action-packed new trailer has been released online.
The teaser spotlights some insane imagery, along with the usual fast-paced, hard-hitting battles we've come to expect from Anno, who also penned the script.
Kamen Rider started out as a 1971 TV series, and has since been adapted as a manga, anime, and video game.

In the movie, college student and motorcycle enthusiast Takeshi Hongo is abducted by the evil organization Sustainable Happiness Organization with Computational Knowledge Embedded Remodeling, otherwise known as "Shocker", and converted into Batta Augment-01 as part of their plans for world domination. Before they can brainwash him to do their bidding, he escapes and uses his new enhanced abilities, renaming himself Kamen Rider, to wage a one-man war against Shocker.
