Cruella is an upcoming, live-action film based on the animated classic by the name of 101 Dalmatians. Taking place in the 1920's, Cruella will tell the tale of how the titular villainess came to be so cruel. Academy Award-winning actress Emma Stone (La La Land) stars as Cruella de Vil herself.

The cast also includes Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility), Paul Walter Hauser (I, Tonya), Joel Fry (Yesterday), Emily Beecham (Into the Badlands), and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Killing Eve). Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) directs a screenplay by Jez Butterworth, Aline Brosh McKenna, Dana Fox, Kelly Marcel, Steve Zissis, and Tony McNamara.

Per recent reports, it seems that Mark Strong has joined the cast. Strong is best known for starring in the likes of Kingsman: The Secret Service, Shazam!, and many other hits. It's believed that Strong will the titular villain's father — that being the Baron to Thompson's Baroness. 

"The role of Cruella’s father is known as “The Baron” and is said to have a kind heart and is a good person," reads The DisInsider's scoop.

Cruella is set to arrive in theatres on May 28th, 2021.
